This little guy came in on the 5th of May. Darcy is our “Squirrel Girl” — she has the magic touch with these little furry friends. This one was brought in by a concerned neighbor, and is in very good hands.
There are many different kinds of squirrels, including those that fly (or glide), climb, and burrow. The most common species you’ll find in upstate New York are the gray squirrel (the ones everyone who has ever visited a park — or owned a bird feeder — is familiar with), the smaller and very lively red squirrel, and of course our own native ground squirrel, the chipmunk.
