There are many ways to support the animals at NY Wildlife Rescue Center. Their health and welfare depends on the gifts generously given by our friends in the community, and all over the world. The difference between a wild animal who can be raised for successful release, and one who cannot, often comes down to vet care and other physical needs — all of which require funding. Wildlife Rehabilitators receive no state or federal funding. Whatever isn’t covered by donations comes out of our pockets.

Some Funding Options
The above link will take you to PayPal, where you can send a gift to the animals. You do not need to open a PayPal account to do this (just click on the “credit card” link instead of the “log in” link). Note that PayPal receipts may say “Northeast Llama Rescue.” Don’t worry, you’re still in the right place; it’s just that the account was established before wildlife rescue became our primary focus.
In addition, checks to PO Box 410, Middleburgh, NY 12122, made out to New York Wildlife Rescue Center, Inc are always welcome.
Facebook Fundraisers
Many people set up fundraisers for their birthday and other events, or just to help charities. This is free for the person creating the fundraiser, and a great way to give. You will have to search for us as either “New York Wildlife Rescue Center” or “Northeast Llama Rescue and Barnyard Sanctuary, Inc.” That is us. (There is another organization that, very recently, began calling itself “New York Wildlife Rescue,” so be sure you also see “Northeast Llama Rescue” in the listing to select the right charity.)

When you bring your recyclables to Righi’s, you can designate New York Wildlife Rescue Center as a charity to receive a donation. They have several locations around Schoharie County.
Gift Certificates to Local Businesses
Tractor Supply and Kelly Farm and Garden in Cobleskill both sell gift certificates. We make a lot of our facility purchases through them. If you’d like to donate gift certificates to our cause, they will be put to very good use.
When You Bring Us An Animal
Donations are so important whenever an animal comes in to rescue. Some of our rescues can end up costing a great deal (especially if veterinarian intervention is needed) to get them ready for release. Our educational animals (who are not releasable) need food, shelter, and care year-round. If another of our volunteer rehabbers winds up caring for that animal, your donation goes with the animal. Please give generously if you can, but every donation helps!
